Abstract:In order to deeply study the influence of periodic pulsating flow on venturi flowmeter, in this paper , FLUENT software was used to simulate the flow field in venturi flowmeter. Based on the flow field in the venturi tube with different pulsating frequencies and amplitudes, the inherent errors caused by missing derivative term in the steady flow calculation method were estimated, and the effect of pulsating frequencies and amplitudes on the errors was analyzed. The research shows that due to missing derivative term, the transient pulsation flow calculation results have large errors, especially in the case of high frequency and large scale, the negative error can reach more than 100%.
