Abstract:Aims: The influence of ambient temperature on the measurement result of infrared thermometer was studied. Methods: 12 different brands and models of forehead thermometers were randomly selected as experimental samples. High precision incubator was used to simulate different ambient temperature. Temperature of blackbody radiation source was measured by 12 samples at different ambient temperature. Results: The measured values of the same sample were different under different ambient temperatures. Some of the values were quite different. Conclusions: The energy radiated from the optical elements of the forehead thermometer at different ambient temperatures is different, the temperature of forehead thermometer optical elements can’t be measured without temperature compensation sensor, the result of temperature measurement is greatly affected by the ambient temperature.
