Abstract:This paper designs and implements an automatic workpiece positioning system for the automation of fluorescent magnetic particle inspection. The system consists of a workpiece positioning process control upper computer, workpiece displacement acquisition and workpiece drag PLC controllers, a workpiece displacement sensor, workpiece drag motors and drivers. The upper computer drives the drag motors to drive the workpiece through the PLC controllers, and monitors the position of the workpiece by the displacement sensors, driving every workpiece block to run to the camera taking position/mechanical arm marking position and stop, so that the image of each block of the workpiece can be collected without overlap and the crack can be marked exactly. The system can achieve a positioning accuracy of ±5mm when a workpiece with a 140mm square section and a length of 2~2.73m is dragged according to the length of the 124mm block, and the dragging time of each block is 3~5s. The system has laid a solid foundation for the automation of fluorescent magnetic particle inspection.
