Evaluation of Uncertainty in Measurement of Adhesion Tester on Pull-off Method |

Abstract Adhesion, as the mutual attraction between the contact parts of two different substances, is an important manifestation of the interaction between the molecules of two substances. Accurate measurement of adhesion between paint film and coating surface can effectively promote industrial production such as plate, and which plays an important role in scientific research in water transportation engineering and chemical industry. At present, there is a lack of detailed and in-depth evaluation on the measurement uncertainty of pull-off adhesion method, and there is a lack of corresponding basis for the calibration of pull-off adhesion tester. In this paper, the measurement uncertainty of indication error of paint film adhesion tester based on pull-off method is studied. The results showed that the uncertainty of the indication error of the pull-off adhesion tester is mainly introduced by the measurement data repeatability, the uncertainty of the standard instrument and the theoretical reference value. And the uncertainty of the reference value is mainly caused by the pressure gauge and the spindle tension area. This paper also provided support for the preparation of measurement technical specifications of pull-out adhesion tester.
