Abstract:The short base metal thermocouple is widely used in industrial production field such as the temperature control and measurement. However, due to the polluting and aging of the thermocouple electrodes after usied for a period of time, the index values of the thermocouple would drift and the indication errror would exceed the maximum permissible error (MPE), So the short base metal thermocouple should be calibrated regularly. By analyzing and evaluating the uncertainty of calibration results of short base metal thermocouple, the uncertainty components of each input are obtained, It is possible to analyze the major factors that influence the calibration methods of short couples, and to reduce the uncertainty of measurement by improving the measuring equipment and calibration methods. The expanded uncertainty obtained from the evaluation can be used as a basis for daily use.
