Abstract:Richter hardness tester is one of the commonly used hardness testing tools, usually using Richter hardness block for its calibration work, but if there is no Richter hardness block, we need to find another way. In this paper, three kinds of common Richter hardness testers are calibrated by using the Richter hardness block, Brinell hardness block and Rockwell hardness block, by analyzing the calibration data of other hardness blocks, this paper gives the reasons for the large deviation in calibrating the Richter hardness gauge with standard Brinell hardness blocks and standard Rockwell hardness blocks, and finds out the corresponding rules. Finally, some suggestions on the calibration of the Richter hardness tester are given.
